Mikel and Kyle Frazier: Oklahoma National Guard,
Chinook Unit, have returned home after serving their country in Kuwait. Thank
you for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers; it helped them arrive safely
home.
The sport of dogs is a family adventure. Some of the best times have been
spent "on the road" travelling to one "dog function" or another! Like all sports,
there are "thrills" and "agonies"! Sharing victories and defeats, difficult battles
and the easy skirmishes, births and deaths, hard work and fun times, has strengthened
the bonds in our family. Special credit goes to my three children: they have been
a major part of our success at Belle Bête Collies and Belgian Tervuren.
Keli Frazier-Stonebarger and Jerome
Keli
(Frazier) and Jerome Stonebarger: Anyone who knows Keli will tell you, she has
a sweet spirit. Her joy of life and her optimism have kept me on an "even keel".
She has a gentle hand with puppies in training; she has patience with the "teenaged"
rebels! Long distance "road trips" gave us opportunity to talk, talk, talk.....Keli
actually celebrated her "sweet 16" birthday with my collie friends at an Olive
Garden in Texas! (We made sure that she had a cake, a birthday song, and a really
cute waiter!!) In high school, Keli was active in clubs and church activities;
she graduated with valedictorian honors. Keli and Jerome were married over Memorial
Day Weekend, 1999. They are juniors at Southwestern Oklahoma State University,
Weatherford, Oklahoma. Keli is in the nursing program; Jerome is a special education
major (emphasis in physical education). Thank you sweetheart for all your love
and support!
Mikel Frazier and Jennifer
Mikel
Frazier (pictured with Jennifer Shepherd): Mikel is a whiz with puppies! He is
excellent help with whelping, in assisting those "newborns" to find mom's warmth
and nourishment, and by holding, cuddling, and comforting pups in the first weeks
of life. He has an eye for the "pick of the litter" and definite ideas about call
names! Mikel has always been the "brawn" at dog shows---lifting, toting, hauling
"stuff" for all my friends. He usually gets "stuck" with the pooper-scooper at
the collie specialties, but takes it all in stride! Many a fun match found Mikel
in the ring with that "difficult" puppy! In high school, Mikel lettered in football;
his artistic talent enabled him to do especially well in drafting and design.
Mikel is a freshman at Oklahoma City Community College. He plans to pursue an
education and career in archeitecture. Son, I am extremely proud of you and appreciate
all the sacrifices you made to dedicate time to the sport of dogs!
Kyle Frazier and Chassidy
Kyle Frazier (pictured with Chassidy Speir): Kyle is the quiet, steady worker
behind the scenes. He has routinely helped with the kennel chores (yes, the "not
fun stuff"). Like Mikel, he is the "muscle" at dog shows. He has us packed and
loaded before I have finished celebrating or commiserating a win....and has usually
helped everyone set up around us! He has kept me awake on long road trips; do
you remember being stranded in Texarkana for 2 extra days waiting on a part for
the Jimmy? He is great help taking dog pictures (which is a 3 person job); he
was cheap labor for the Collie Club of America National Specialty in Oklahoma
City, 1995. Kyle is a senior at Chickasha High School. He is captain of the football
team, where he has lettered for three years and "started" for two, and a power
lifter on the #1 state champion power lifting team 1998, 1999 (and hopefuls for
this year). Kyle has a 4.0 GPA; he plans to attend Oklahoma State University to
study aeronautics. Kyle wants to fly jets! Son, thank you for all your time and
dedication in our dog show ventures; you make me proud!
